It
is very wonderful to have such a nice group as mine and the notion for the
statement is based on the fact that the group is well coordinated. Coming from
different backgrounds and cultures, as well as having different views about how
things should look like and how activities should be undertaken, it can easily
be sort that the group would experience difficulties in the coordination of its
activities, but this is not the case as the coordination process was well
defined and this can be viewed as the main strength of the group.
Basically,
the coordination process meant that all the activities were undertaken in the
most refined way, which is also the main reason behind the success of the
group. On an individual level, this assignment has been good in teaching me how
to work within a group. The underlying element defined from the research
process is that group activities comes with huge pressure and the success of
the work undertaken will depend on the coordination process, which now means
that I will have to coordinate my future works properly in the future in order
to ensure success and that is part of what I have learned from the research
process.
While
the group pretty much achieved its set objectives, it must be noted that the
group was lacking in certain areas and that might have influenced success of
the group negatively. The most notable area is in the view group meeting. There
was only 4 meeting during the group work and every individual was expected to
perform his or her designated tasks and then send the task to the group leader
for compilation. On a personal view, I think that our score would have been
potentially enhanced if we had more group meetings. This is because it would
have offered us the opportunity to critique the whole work and present a more
reliable work that would have potentially increased on grades.
The
approach used for the group work is centred on proving the research objectives
with reliable sources. This main reason is to ensure that the finding from the
group would be will be capable of impacting significantly on the topic of
discussion. This is very important because we are not sure about who might make
use of our group work in the practical aspect in the future and providing the
right sources is necessary to ensure that outcome is as expected. However, I
think this approach can also be improved through individual supports and ideas.
From
the group presentation, I think that group number T2: Jelly Joiners with the Project
title: LV Switch Board upgrade in Live 25 Storey Hotel is the likely group to
be awarded the project. This is because they offered a well-defined approach to
their project and the costing was very detailed with predefined cost factors.
On
an overall scope, the project has been very influential on my attitude and
approach to project management and the reason is centred on the fact that it
has helped me to develop a broader knowledge about the issues that need to be
addressed in project management and the factors that must be looked into in
order to ensure that a project becomes a success. Basically, the project
process has been very helpful in building me towards becoming a better project
manager in the future and helping me to understand the issues that must be
handled in order to ensure that future projects I undertake will yield fruitful
results.
