1.2
General Purpose of the Information System
This
information system is basically developed to record the purchases made by the
consumers. This record will include date of purchase, product purchase, value
of product purchases, and returns where applicable. Additionally, it will
presented summarize valued in term of total of all sales made.
The
benefit of this is that it will allow the user to understand purchase related
factors and effect decisions on that ground. For instance, the user will be
able to understand the products that are frequently purchased, enhancing supply
and warehousing for such products in order to ensure that it doesn’t go out of
stock. It will help create a lean process for the user, something that can
directly impact on competitive advantage of the user. Thus, the system is very
important for business management processes
1.3
A List of the Information System’s components.

A computer system is needed for keying
in and processing the information as keyed in.
·
Microsoft
Excel is needed for analyzing the data that are developed.
·
Information about consumers’ purchases,
which will be used to produce a summary of purchases per specified period is
required at each stage of the purchase process.
·
The purchases will be entered into the
excel sheet, which will later be analyzed as desired.
·
The system functions offline – which
implies that internet is not needed.
·
For the system to function correctly,
the people involved must always enter correct information as the system is only
able to process the information that are keyed into it.

Spreadsheet structure
Date
of purchase – the date that the goods was purchase.
Goods
purchased – the goods that was purchased
Quantity
– the quantity of goods purchased
Unit
Price – the unit cost of the products
Discount
– the discount applicable to the purchase goods
Total
Price – the total cost of goods purchased
Date
of return – the date that the purchased goods were returned for exchange
Refund
- the money retuned to the consumer as a result of returning the goods.
Total
– the total of values for each table.

A List of the functionalities the proposed Information System
will provide

=sum() – this is used to determine the
total of the monetary value for the goods that have been purchases. it can be +
(for addition), - (for subtraction) / (for division) or * (for multiplication).

Table vales. This is the name for the
tables. It has x and y axis, with the tables arranged in descending order.
·
Charts. The tables can be used to
produce any chart as desired. The chat is the major tool that will be used for
analysis, computing the difference in values and determining the next point of
action.
Phase 2.
Building
the Information System “Implementation”
Each group is required to do the following:

Total price is the sum of unit price multiplied by quantity, minused from the diocount issued as can be seen below.
Total price of items sold is the sum of all total prices for the individual items as shown below..
